About Root & Resonance
At Root & Resonance we believe in a holistic approach to health and the value of community. Yoga and sound healing can create a strong physical, mental and emotional foundation from which to build a healthy life.
We work in yoga for kids and adolescence, cancer informed yoga, yoga for palliative care and therapeutic yoga and sound healing.
The Root & Resonance approach encompasses asana (physical) practice, pranayama (breathing) technique, various meditation methods and the healing power of sound to empower us to connect with ourselves and our community.

About Christina
Christina is is a 500-hour+ certified yoga teacher, having completed a 200-hour classical yoga training in India and a 300-hour therapeutic yoga training in the UAE and Bali as well as additional trainings in Yoga for Cancer, Yoga for Palliative Care, Yoga for Adolescence, and Trauma informed Yoga. She is also a certified breathing coach.
On the sound side of things, Christina is the founder of India’s only ukulele Festival, the Mahalo Ukulele Festival based in Goa and uses music to support all her teaching. She has created a programme called Roots and Tunes which explores the 12 principles of Permaculture by learning 12 songs on the ukulele and she has used both ukulele and sound healing as part of a healing programme for traumatised children in refugee camps in northern Iraq run by the Bring Hope Foundation.
Christina has training in sound healing from the UAE and the UK and is currently enrolled in the Level 2 1:1 Integral Sound Healing Diploma with the Soundhealing Academy.
In addition to her yoga training Christina is a published author of six kids books (including a yoga book and a mindfulness manual) and one adult book. She has been featured as participating author at the Sharjah Children's Reading Festival, the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature and the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair.
By background, Christina is a photojournalist with 15 years experience as reporter, editor and photographer in newspapers and magazines around the globe.
She holds a BA in Journalism from Marquette University in Milwaukee, USA; an MSc in Journalism from Northwestern University in Evanston, USA; and an MA in Photojournalism from the University of Westminster in the UK.
Thousands of her kids books in English, French and Arabic have been donated to refugee camps in northern Greece, Iraq and beyond where she has worked with children and women teaching yoga and sound healing as part of a the Bring Hope Foundation's Healing Programme for traumatised refugees.
She is also the mum of three awesome kids.
